Our dental hygienist (also called oral hygienist) is a licensed dental professional who specialises in preventive oral health, typically focusing on techniques in oral hygiene.
Our hygienist will clean and remove stains from your teeth and then focus on teaching you how to keep your teeth clean so you don’t have to see her as often!
If you do not have healthy gums, they won’t hold your teeth in your mouth for long!
Most people have gum disease due to poor cleaning. However other factors include smoking, diet, stress, genetics and the list goes on.
Common procedures performed by hygienists include cleanings known as prophylaxis, scaling and root planing for patients with periodontal disease, taking of prescribed radiographs, dental sealants, administration of fluoride, and providing instructions for proper oral hygiene and care.
